AUTHOR SPOTLIGHT & REVIEW - Shanna Hatfield

Good evening, friends.

This has been a slug week for me. I'm still trying to get the garden in. Yes, I know it's late but my plants are doing amazing in their pots. I'm trying desperately to get them into the new beds Bob built a couple of weeks ago. 

I never could take working in the heat so after about two hours out there doing hard labor of hauling mulch and stuff, my body says enough and I sleep most of the day away. If you'd like to see what I'm working with, you can check out my GARDEN YOUTUBE series. 

Today, I'm shining the spotlight on author Shanna Hatfield. I first featured Shanna as part of a Mail Order Bride series back in 2015. You can see that post HERE.

While I was waiting for some books to come through from NetGalley, I picked up one off my kindle from last Christmas.

The short blurb:

Phillamena Booth becomes payment to bank owner, Luke Granger, for an outstanding loan. This isn't something Luke would normally do but if he doesn't take her, Filly's father will sell her to the local brothel to optain the money (which Luke is pretty sure he will never see).  Luke isn't interested in love or settling down. The Christmas Bargain truly is a Cinderella story. Phillamena is just waiting to be transformed into the woman her late mother always knew she could be. 

A note from Shanna about the book:

She wanted to use a real town from the 1800s. Research took her to Hardman. Once a thriving community, Hardman is now a ghost town. Routing of the railroad through nearby Heppner was a blow to Hardman, stunting the town's growth. The last business closed in 1968.

I loved this story. Luke Granger is the knight in shining armour every woman dreams of and blessed when she finds him. As I write this review, I see this was part of a 9-book series. There goes my book money. I'm okay with that, because I know every book by Shanna is well worth the money and time spent. I think you'll agree. 

While I did love the book, there were a few POV (point of view) issues. While I do catch POV changes easily, they did not distract from the overall story.
