AUTHOR SPOTLIGHT - SOMETHING BLUE - Shirley Jump

 Good morning, everyone!

We come to the last author spotlight in this anthology. Shirley Jump may be the last on our list but she is one of the best. She has written great stories as well as been published in magazines and continues to share her writing experiences and knowledge with the rest of us.

Having known Shirley for almost fifteen years, I was thrilled to see her name on the list for the SOMETHING BLUE anthology.

Let me introduce you to Shirley Jump:

When she isn't writing books, New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Shirley Jump competes in triathlons, mostly because all that training lets her justify mid-day naps and a second slice of chocolate cake. She's published more than 75 books in 24 languages, although she's too geographically challenged to find any of those countries on a map.

SECOND CHANCE SWEETHEART – Shirley Jump

When Harlan Winslow sorta-definitely kidnaps Jessie Midler before she can say I do to a senator’s son, he sets off a media frenzy. Harlan is desperate to save his former best friend from making a major mistake. He convinces the spitfire bride-to-be to hide out at Canyon Creek, a place that holds all their best and worst memories. Jessie has always been a little in love with Harlan, even if she won’t admit it. Could a couple weeks of togetherness turn two friends into…forever?

Who hasn't had a brief vision of being kidnapped by someone from their past... or at the very least get a do-over?

Speaking of 'do-over', Shirley is a new bride (May 7th). Congratulations and Blessings on this new page in your love story.

AUTHOR SPOTLIGHT - SOMETHING BLUE - Roe Valentine

Good morning, everyone!

First off, I have to apologize for not getting promos out last week (or the week before). I just get busy with other stuff around the house and hardly ever pick up my phone during the day.

I began yesterday, posting the ones I've missed to my social media accounts and working my way forward to this week's talented ladies.

Today's author is Roe Valentine.

Here's a bit about her:

Roe Valentine was born into the right family. Not only does the name Valentine suit her, but her grandmother, unknowingly, introduced the young Ms. Valentine to her first romance novel. She calls herself a romantic at heart and believes that love conquers all.

The Texas native attempted to write her first contemporary romance novel when she was nineteen years old. That attempt didn't take, but her story has a happy ending. She kept pursuing the dream until she landed her first publishing contract in 2013.
When not busy writing love stories Roe can often be found reading in a variety of genres, streaming all the true crime documentaries, popping a bottle of champagne, and pretending to work out. Enjoying margaritas with some girl-talk isn't unusual either. Also, she is obsessed with her hairless sphinx cat, Meow! For a night in, she and her partner are known to grill in the backyard or veg with days worth of snacks.

She writes spicy Contemporary, Historical and Erotic romance novels.

THE PERFECT FIT – Roe Valentine

When seamstress Gitana Solis goes back home to make groomsmen suits for her big brother’s wedding, she is forced to share a room with best man Kaleo Miller, the Hawaiian stud who unknowingly broke her heart in high school.

'forced to share' Now there's a teaser if ever there was one! I won't how that comes about. If you've not read the SOMETHING BLUE anthology for yourself, what are you waiting for?!

You will find all of Roe Valentine's releases by visiting her Amazon Author Page. The link is listed below:

AUTHOR SPOTLIGHT - SOMETHING BLUE - Lizzie Shane

 Good morning!

I want to jump right in to today's author. We are almost through! While I've enjoyed the stories in this anthology, I'm ready to pick up new reads and new authors. Look for today's author to make a re-appearance in November.

Today's author is Lizzie Shane. Not only does she craft sweet romances suitable for Harlequin but she also showcases books AND their heat level on her BOOKSHELF. I love how she shows all of her contemporary romances on her sight. Proving we can always learn something new in this business!

Today, we're getting to know Lizzie Shane and her contribution to the anthology.

Here's a bit about Lizzie:

After graduating from Northwestern University, Lizzie began trying to make it as a fiction writer while exploring the world. She has written her way through all fifty states and over fifty countries!

She began writing paranormal romance in 2009 under the pen name Vivi Andrews.
Several more years would pass before she published her first contemporary romance, 'Marrying Mister Perfect'. Lizzie Shane was a RWA Rita finalist several times but her favorite claim to fame is losing on Jeopardy.

Lizzie now writes the Pine-Hollow rom-com series with Grand Central/ Forever publishing where every happily-ever-after begins with adopting an adorable rescue dog. She also writes sweet romance for Hallmark Publishing.

WEDDING VEILS AND PUPPY TALES – Lizzie Shane

When a mischievous puppy shreds his sister’s wedding gown only days before the ceremony, Kellan will need the help of small-town seamstress Lily to save his sister’s big day—but the real challenge might be hanging on to his heart.

Awww... a hero with a love for his sister and a mischievous puppy? One of the sweetest stories I've read in this anthology.

Releases November 22, 2022

BLURB:

Best friend? Yes. Boyfriend? Absolutely not!

A Jane Austen fan gets more than she bargained for when she swears off men and adopts and adorable puppy.

Make sure to check out her Vivi Andrews page for Award-winning Paranormal Romance!

AUTHOR SPOTLIGHT - SOMETHING BLUE - Victoria Schade

Good morning, everyone!

I've been battling horrid headaches the last few days so I'm slower than usual - if that's possible. I'm in the process of redoing my art studio/ writing office and have been painting furniture. While I'm painting outside, I bring the pieces in at night and put them in the office. Since opening windows in this heat is not an option, I think the fumes are causing the headaches. That and the AC from the office blowing straight at the back of my head at the dining room table where I usually work when Bob is gone.

We're coming to the end of our SOMETHING BLUE author spotlights.

Here's a bit of background on Victoria Schade:

Victoria Schade has been a dog trainer and writer for over twenty years. During that time, her dog duties have included working behind the scenes on Animal Planet's Puppy Bowl as the lead animal wrangler, appearing on two seasons of the Animal Planet show, Faithful Friends and creating dog training content and appearing in educational videos for a variety of pet-centric websites. Victoria's favorite way to share her dog knowledge is through her books, whether in a how-to manual like "Bonding With Your Dog" or woven into her novels like "Who Rescued Who" or "Lost Found & Forever".

Victoria shares her 1850's always-in-need-of-renovations home with Millie the Smooth Brussels Griffon (who wants you to know that she is not a skinny pug), Olive the mixed breed  dog, the occasional foster pup, and her incredibly tolerant husband, Tom.

ALWAYS AND FUREVER – Victoria Schade

As the official wedding dog attendant for the biggest society event of the season, Sarah Gardner knows she can’t afford to slip up, but “Best Dog” Clarence might be her toughest client yet. Seems the canine ring bearer managed to lose one of the rings right before the ceremony, and it’s up to Sarah and handsome venue owner Sam Parsons to track it down before the vows.

Aside from kids in my romance, reads, I'm a gonner for animals of all types. All of our animals except 1 beat of a black cat have all been rescues. Most wild animals that pass through our yard are not afraid of me. Bob calls me Mrs. Doolittle. So, yeah, you have me at woof or meow... whichever the case may be.

Her most recent book, DOG FRIENDLY, released in late June of this year.

You can find out more about Victoria Schade and purchase her books by following the links below:

I'll be back tomorrow with Lizzie Shane.

AUTHOR SPOTLIGHT - SOMETHING BLUE - Annie Raines

 Good morning!

Going to be a triple-digit scorcher today and the rest of the week. I'm glad I'm working in the studio for the duration.

Today, we have a very prolific author with some big news I'll be sharing later in this post.

Here's a bit about Annie Raines:

Annie Raines is a USA Today best selling author of small-town contemporary romances full of hope and heart. After years of dreaming about being an author, Annie published her first book in 2015. She's been chasing deadlines and happy-ever-afters for her characters ever since.
When she isn't writing, Annie is usually spending time with her husband and three children, binging Netflix, or reading a book by one of her favorite authors.

A WEDDING TO REMEMBER – Annie Raines

After a fall and bump on the head, Reese Whittaker seems to have forgotten the last six months and falling for the man she’s about to marry in T-minus two days. The last thing she remembers is hating Patrick Jamison because he’s just swiped her dream job for himself. Reese’s only hope is getting her memory back because otherwise, the wedding of her dreams will feel more like a nightmare.

Her most recent book, The Match Breaker Summer, released April 5th.

That news I promised you?  Well, I'll let Annie tell you about it. CLICK HERE for the details!

You can catch up with Annie Raines all across the internet by following any of the links below:

I'll be back tomorrow to share my own writing tip.

Today, I'm shining the spotlight on Robyn Neeley and her story in the anthology, Her Purrfect Plus. One.

She also loves everything about  honeybees and am obsessed with honey.

AUTHOR SPOTLIGHT - SOMETHING BLUE - Janice Lynn

 Good morning!

I hope everyone had a safe and happy 4th of July. If you didn't watch the video I posted yesterday morning, please go back and watch. I think that scene is a Hallmark movie in the making!

We're continuing our Something Blue series today, with author Janice Lynn.

As you'll note from her bio, Janice is a very busy lady.

USA Today Bestselling author Janice Lynn has a Masters in Nursing from Vanderbilt University and works as a nurse practitioner in a small-town family practice. She lives in the southern United States with her husband and ever-expanding family, including an adorable Maltese named Halo.

After writing for Harlequin for over a decade, she has expanded to sweet romance and is excited about her Hallmark Publishing releases featuring the Quilt of Valor Foundation. As a Blue Star Mom, the organization is near and dear to her heart.

Janice has won numerous awards including the National Reader’s Choice Award, the Golden Quill, the Holt Medallion Award of Meri, and RT Book Club’s The American Title Contest. She has also been a finalist in prestigious contests such as The Golden Heart, Gayle Wilson Award of Excellence, and Book Buyers Best. She’s a Wall Street Journal, USA Today, and Publisher’s Weekly best-selling author.

WEDDING AT WINDING WOODS – Janice Lynn

Lacey Collier had been dreaming of walking down the aisle to Luke Evans all her life. Only, she’d hoped they’d be the bride & groom rather than Maid of Honor and Best Man in her brother’s wedding. Could a weekend wedding in the mountains have him finally realizing she’s all grown up and worth taking a chance on love with?

I loved this story. Very reminiscent of how slow men can be when it comes to women. Spoiler alert - In true Hallmark fashion, Luke figures it out eventually - like they always do.

Janice has a new book coming out in October:

Wrapped Up In Christmas Hope is Book 3 in the Wrapped Up In Christmas series.
Book 2 - Wrapped Up in Christmas Joy

Blurb:
Morgan’s late husband was a daredevil…and now she’s a widowed single mom. All she wants now is to set up a stable life for herself and her son in the small town of Pine Hill, Kentucky.

Andrew’s a firefighter who thrives on the rush of saving others. His secret dream is to become a smokejumper and fight raging wildfires across the country. But it’ll mean leaving his hometown and the people who rely on him.

Morgan and Andrew are drawn together as they both volunteer to make quilts for veterans at the local quilt shop. Morgan’s son looks up to Andrew, and Morgan can’t help but notice how good Andrew is with him. Meanwhile, Andrew’s torn between his ambition and his growing attraction to Morgan. They both have choices to make about their future…and about each other.

AUTHOR SPOTLIGHT - SOMETHING BLUE - Makenna Lee

AMAZON   B & N   KOBO

Good morning, everyone!

I know things have been a bit slow here but they'll pick up, I promise. Bob leaves next Tuesday so I can get back to a regular schedule.

Today, I'm introducing you to Makenna lee and her story in the SOMETHING BLUE anthology.

Makenna Lee is an award-winning romance author living in the Texas Hill Country with her real-life hero and their two children. Her oldest son has Down syndrome and taught her to appreciate the little things. He inspired her first Harlequin book A SHERIFF'S STAR. Her writing journey began when she mentioned all her story ideas and her husband asked why she wasn’t writing them down. The next day she bought a laptop, started her first book, and knew she’d found her passion. Makenna is often drinking coffee while writing, reading, or plotting a new story. She enjoys renaissance festivals, nature photography, studying herbal medicine, and usually listens to Celtic music while writing. Her wish is to write books that touch your heart, making you feel, think, and dream.

Here is her story from SOMETHING BLUE:

SOMETHING LOST – SOMETHING FOUND – Makenna Lee

When an injured dancer moves home to take over her grandmother’s wedding venue on the family’s estate, she discovers the Nashville musician who broke her heart has inherited the caretaker’s cottage, and his four-year-old son with Down syndrome is counting on him to be both dad and mom. A lost and found ring, a special child and wedding planning chaos just might lead to a new beginning.

Most of my readers know by now that if a story includes kids or pets, you have me from the beginning. But there is something about a special needs child that tugs at my heart strings. They are just like every other child but often portrayed as anything other than 'normal'. No one is 'normal' in my book. Everyone is special in their own right.

Another aspect of this story pulled me in. I also promote classic country, blue grass, Texas, red-dirt music as part of my weekly schedule (though that's been lacking in the past few months). I'm not a fan of the 'new' country or what Nashville is doing to their historic musical past. If I ever wanted to write a controversial article or book, I'd write about how this generation wants to tear down the past that brought them to this point.

AUTHOR SPOTLIGHT - SOMETHING BLUE - Nicole Stockton

Good morning, everyone!

Thank you to all the Something Blue authors who let me skip them a bit while I shared the very special Gregg McBride with you.  As I type this, I'm watching his Hallmark movie - A Heavenly Christmas. Have you seen it?

This week, I'm shining the spotlight on Nicole Flockton and Makenna Lee.

Today, I'm introducing you to Nicole Flockton.

USA Today Bestselling author Nicole Flockton writes sexy contemporary romance that sparkles and seduces you one kiss at a time. Nicole likes nothing better than taking characters and creating unique situations where they fight for their true love.

On her first school report her teacher noted “Nicole likes to tell her own stories”. It wasn’t until after the birth of her first child and after having fun on a romance community forum that she finally decided to take the plunge and write a book. She is a hybrid author and has published over forty books since 2012.

When she’s not busy writing she’s looking after her very own hero – her wonderfully supportive husband, as well as her two fabulous kids and various fur babies. Her kindle is never far from her reach. She’s a certified chocoholic, Cinderella lover, major BTS fan, sports lover and a glitter aficionado.

Her contribution to the Something Blue anthology -

THE WEDDING RIVALS – Nicole Flockton

When high school rivals find themselves as maid of honor and best man at their best friends’ wedding, it’s game on as to who has the best pre-wedding events planned. Old rivalries are renewed along with the spark of romance that has always simmered below the surface.

I love reunion stories. The Wedding Rivals rings all the bells for me!

AUTHOR SPOTLIGHT - SOMETHING BLUE - Marianne Evans

Good morning!
We are back with our second author of the week. Today, we're shining the spotlight on author, Marianne Evans.

Here's a bit about Marianne:
Happily married and the mother of two, Marianne is a devotee of all things royal, catering to her family (especially her grand joy!) and she is shamelessly bossed around by her cats. She’s a lifelong resident of Michigan who is active in American Christian Fiction Writers. She also served two terms as President of the Greater Detroit chapter of Romance Writers of America.

You can read the official complete bio on her website HERE.

LOVE BY ACCIDENT – Marianne Evans

Mix a rescue puppy and unguarded frittata, and wedding reception chaos is sure to ensue. While Emily Carpenter and Raylen Preston deal with frittata-ghedon, sparks fly. But can a magical second-chance wedding celebration lead these two wounded hearts to their own happy ending?

I don't know about you but I can't pass up a story with children or pets. Get ready to laugh!

AUTHOR SPOTLIGHT - SOMETHING BLUE - Melinda Curtis

Good morning, everyone!
This week we continue our series with the SOMETHING BLUE anthology authors. Today, we're shining the spotlight on Melinda Curtis.

Here's an interesting bio from her Amazon author page:
Prior to writing romance, Melinda was a junior manager for a Fortune 500 company, which meant she flew on the private jet she was relegated to the jump seat – otherwise known as the potty. After grabbing her pen (and a parachute) she made the jump to full-time writer. She recently came to grips with the fact that she’s an empty nester and a (very young) grandma, concepts easier to grasp than jet-setting on a potty.

Melinda's story is - ALWAYS YOU

Cassie Andrews and Jude Turner were inseparable in high school. But Cassie went away to college to become a doctor and Jude stayed in Beacon Bay to buy and run the family bait shop. Somewhere along the line they decided to go their separate ways. Now Cassie’s back for a friend’s wedding and sparks are rekindled. But is she home to stay?

I found the story line interesting in that the Heroine is the one that went away to medical school. Even in today's world we still think of the Hero going that direction. I hear the waves of Beacon Bay beckoning Cassie. What do you think?

AUTHOR SPOTLIGHT - SOMETHING BLUE - Cassidy Carter

AMAZON   KOBO   B & N

Good morning, everyone!

By the time you read this, my dear Tabby cat will be minus several teeth. I feel so bad for her. She isn't even 5 years old! There is lots of napping with momma time. That's her favorite thing to do - curl up in my lap and either watch TV or go to sleep.

Today, we're meeting Cassidy Carter. Here's a little bit about this talented lady:

With strong, relatable heroines and heroes too loveable not to fall for, Cassidy Carter crafts sweet, fun, family-centered romances that will win readers’ hearts. When not writing, Cassidy can be found digging in the garden or lost in a good book. Originally from the South, she now lives in the desert Southwest with her husband, two daughters, and a cattle dog that has never seen a lick of work.

Cassidy's story in the anthology is SOMETHING BORROWED

When bridesmaid Catherine Katz tries on the bride’s ring before her best friend’s wedding, she doesn’t count on Lennox Miller, her former fiancée, catching her in the act—or not being able to get the ring off. She doesn’t want Len’s help, but now she needs it. During their race together to try and free her before the ceremony begins, Catherine begins to see that her own old love story might potentially have a new ring to it.

AUTHOR SPOTLIGHT - SOMETHING BLUE - Caro Carson

 Good afternoon, everyone!

I do apologize for coming in late today. I've been under a creative deadline that I finally closed on around noon today - all while winding up the head cold and finding out my dear sweet Tabby cat will have most of her teeth removed. I so feel for her.

We are continuing our list of authors from the Something Blue anthology - Caro Carson

Here's a bit of background on Caro:

Despite a no-nonsense background as a West Point graduate and U.S. Army officer, Caro Carson has always treasured the happily-ever-after of a good romance novel. After her military service, she worked in the healthcare industry with a Fortune 100 company, talking science with doctors who were rarely handsome bachelor Texans like the doctors in her books.

Now a USA Today bestselling author and RITA award winner, Caro is delighted to be living her own happily-ever-after with her husband (who actually is a handsome Texan) and their two children. They live in the great state of Florida, a location which has saved the coaster-loving theme park fanatics a fortune on plane tickets.

Blurb from Caro's story - THE CUSTOM-MADE BRIDESMAID

Bethany Shepherd is on the verge of opening her own bridal boutique, as soon as she finishes this final job as a seamstress for an over-the-top wedding with fifteen bridesmaids. At the last minute, Bethany is forced to fill in for a missing bridesmaid on top of the fifteen dress fittings she must complete as a seamstress. Worse, the groomsman she’s paired with is her old college flame, the wealthy and arrogant Jovian Taylor, who suddenly seems more than willing to stay by her side, for better or for worse.
